Last year was dominated by Green, the Pantone Colour of the Year before being overtaken by Millennial Pink towards the end of 2017. This year Ultra Violet won the title but as we are finally/maybe/hopefully entering spring, it is already being pushed off the pedestal for a very summery colour indeed: Yellow.
Stay with me, I know it is a scary hue.

Shops everywhere are stocking a tonne of it, but not the bright, brash shade you might be worryingly envisioning. The yellow you’re looking for in 2018 is much more golden (sounds better already right), and mixed with sharp tailoring (another big trend) it won’t look to fussy but will actually be a strong power colour for day and night.

I really love yellow and already have a few items in my wardrobe. Love that striped shirt from Matalan, will have to hunt that out (why don’t I live near a Matalan???).
You could always get it online? I am in love with it all but haven’t dared wear it yet!
There is something about yellow that just makes the day seem brighter (even if it’s raining outside). Such a happy colour.
I love the colour of that suit jacket but sadly I’ve always found yellow doesn’t really work on me, I think its the blond hair and fair skin that doesn’t work. Mich x
That is what I always thought but I had an appointment recently with a colourist who showed me which shades do and don’t suit me, and one that did was yellow!
I actually love this colour – I need to get brave and wear it! Kaz
I’ve never really been into yellow before but this year I cannot stop reaching for it – I love it!
That’s the exact same as me, sucker for a trend I guess lol xx
Yellow is very in this summer and it’s so lovely to see such a gorgeous splash of colour!
I’m not a big fan of yellow, it doesn’t go with my skin tone, but that suit is very striking!
Yellow really doesn’t go with my skin so I’m a little wary of these bright prints but they do look lovely and summery!
I do like the light yellow coats and jacket – looks so chic and such a good change from the boring black jackets!
I couldn’t agree more!
